Welcome to Ask Damascus
ASK Damascus is a Political Action Committee established to give the citizens of Damascus a true voice in our city's political process. We are continuing to write initiatives that will guarantee you will have a say in how Damascus should exist and be built. Check back soon to see where we will be holding town meetings to kick off these new initiatives, sign petitions, and inform the public of the truth. You might have moved here initially to get away from the city and Portland's Metro. You might be upset or fearful of what our new city is trying to do. You might not want Metro to plan bus routes or a Max line to Damascus and increase crime. You might be upset at the property rights the city council has already infringed upon. You might want to keep Damascus rural. You might want to keep your timber deferred taxes instead of doing away with them altogether, as they have planned. You might be wondering why your property taxes have increased so dramatically with nothing to show for it. You might want to see your children and grandchildren grow-up in a close-knit and safe community. You might want to know how to make a difference. If this sounds like you, welcome to "Ask Damascus" |
